ONE KITCHEN – SEVERAL CABINET MATERIALS
13 June 2018 |KitchenNot so very long ago, the majority of kitchen designs were limited to a single material that was used in all the furniture. People selected wooden, melamine or thermoplastic cabinets – all in the same colour… and all modules of the installtion were made of this material.
While this style is still quite widespread, it has not been uncommon over the past few years to find kitchens that use a single material – but in two or three different colours. In addition, very trendy kitchens featuring a combination of two or three distinct cabinet materials are frequently seen nowadays.
There are a number of ways to integrate various materials into your kitchen furniture and furnishings; some are striking while others are more discreet. One possibility is to install an island or storage area in a distinct colour or to add decorative elements of a different material. These details are often used to personalize the decor and ramp up the style of the room.
It should come as no surprise that simply mixing and matching materials, patterns and colours will not work. To achieve a truly harmonious kitchen design, these materials, colours, textures and finishes must be carefully chosen. All elements need to blend together, and each must play its part in enhancing the layout to produce a happy union.
The kitchen designers at Cuisines Beauregard are here to advise and help you choose the materials for your next kitchen. With their professionalism, expertise and creativity, they will be able to steer you directly to the kitchen of your dreams.
