Marble, by its very nature, imparts an air of elegance and refinement, and it comes in a rainbow of colours. Also, once it has been treated with a sealer, and because marble is a metamorphic rock, you can be assured that your countertop will enjoy a very long life!

How about soapstone or quartzite?

In addition to marble, soapstone and quartzite are also excellent choices for your kitchen and bathroom countertops.

You will love the smooth, cool texture of soapstone, and its beautiful colour with its slight degree of veining. When first quarried, soapstone is a light grey colour. As it begins to age, it oxidizes and darkens to a charcoal grey. And if a light protective coat of mineral oil is applied to the stone, its colour will darken even more.

Quartzite, in turn, is a metamorphic rock that contains natural quartz. It is as dense as granite, but has the softness of marble.
